General Manager of South Central Railway P.K Srivastava on Thursday inaugurated a second pit line of 560 metres for accommodating 24 coaches on the premises of Guntur yard.

Railway coaches pass through the pit line, where they are thoroughly examined before they set out.

Guntur Division has one pit line of 18 coaches, where two express trains and one passenger train undergo maintenance.

The second pit line was taken up with a cost of Rs 6.73 crore.

CMS opened

Mr. Srivastava also opened a crew management system (CMS) at Nallapadu station, where inter-change of loco and the crews take place. The CMS allows signing on and signing off facility at Nallapadu.

Efficiency Shield

Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway (SCR) has won 19 out of 58 shields which will be presented by SCR General Manager P.K. Srivastava to officers and staff of various departments for their performance in the year 2013, during the Railway Week celebrations on April 15 at Secunderabad. The shields won by Vijayawada Division include the General Manager’s Efficiency shield for overall performance.
