With an aim to enhance the scooter buying experience in line with the strong growth outlook for scooters, Japanese auto major Yamaha inaugurated a scooter boutique at the showroom of Vaishnavi Automobiles here on Wednesday. The second such boutique in the country after Chennai, the boutique would offer a unique buying experience to customers, especially women, where they can buy scooters as well as fashion accessories, said Masaki Asano, managing director of Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd.

“We aim to blend fashion and scooters in a way no other two-wheeler seller has done so far,” he said after inaugurating the scooter boutique.

The company was making inroads into the Indian market, with its fashion scooter Fascino and other attractive variants, he said.

The Japanese two-wheeler brand aims to build a closer relationship with existing customers through this scooter boutique. With its current market share of 5 % in the scooter segment, the company would strengthen its position, he added.

Brand ambassador Asha Bhat and Roy Kurian, vice-president (sales), also spoke on the occasion. “The boutique is aimed at creating a world class facility for Yamaha customers by focussing at their lifestyle which is now an extension of their personality,” Mr Kurian said. The company had set up three state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at Surajpur in UP, Faridabad in Haryana and Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu, he added. Dasaradha Ram Reddy, local dealer, said no effort had been spared to make the boutique as attractive as possible to the customers.
