The schedule for auction of row houses at Rushikonda has been announced. Online applications will be available from Wednesday. The last date is August 12 and the auction will take place on August 18.

Announcing the schedule, VUDA Vice-Chairman N. Yuvaraj said permission of the State Election Commission had been obtained for the auction.

Of the 88 units, 22 had been auctioned earlier.

The earnest money deposit of Rs.25,000 has to be paid for each house. For each application, Rs.500 has to be added. The prospective bidder has to specify which house/houses he is bidding for. If a participant successfully bids for a house and wants to continue, he has to pay the EMD on the spot.

Dr. Yuvaraj said since its high-end property was coming under the hammer, no restrictions were being placed on bidding. This would be continued in future auction of VUDA layouts also.

This was intended to check any speculative participation in the auction without actually buying to manipulate with ulterior motives. On the other hand, the VUDA would have a record of the number of participants.

They are complete in all respects. Solar power is being readied and sewage treatment plant could be put to use only after all the houses are occupied.

The upset price for the row houses ranges from Rs.71 lakh to Rs.82.5 lakh with the plinth area ranging from 2,066 sft to 2,386 ft.

Dr. Yuvaraj said the issue of paying penal interest that far outstripped the principal for houses already allotted would be decided by the VUDA board meeting.

Harita project

On the Harita housing project for which work on three packages had begun, tenders would be approved for another six with the approval of SEC. The work is expected to be completed by August 2014.

Of the 28 public private participation (PPP) projects, work on 15 has been going on, nine have not taken off so far and four are under the consideration of the government. Of the 27 bulk land auctions that had taken place, work has begun on five.

Dr. Yuvaraj said the extent of concrete paving was being reduced. VUDA was weighing its options on the construction of IT towers and using the land vacated by MGM at VUDA Park.

For the 13 SC/ST backlog posts announced, 1,782 applications were received and a decision on appointment would be taken after SEC approval.
