The district committee meeting on SC welfare has approved the action plan for 2010-11 for implementing various welfare programmes at an estimated cost of Rs.923.14 lakhs.
Of the sum, SCSCS subsidy is Rs. 145.27 lakhs, other departments' subsidy Rs.335.69 lakhs, loan from banks Rs.391.83 lakhs, earmarked funds Rs. 41.22 lakhs and beneficiaries' contribution Rs.9.12 lakhs.
The Collector, who chaired meeting, reviewed the targets set for the year and said that 5,177 SCs would receive benefits under various schemes like self-employment, land distribution, minor irrigation, etc during the plan period.
