Sarvepalli contributions recalled

Participating in the Teachers' Day celebration, GITAM University Vice-Chancellor G. Subramanyam said that formation of UGC was former President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's initiation and lauded his contribution to education in modern India. Registrar M. Potharaju, GSIB Principal V.K.Kumar, Principals of Institute of Science, Institute of Technology, Institute of Pharmacy and Institute of Management, N.Lakshmanadas, D.Prasada Rao, P.Suresh and K.Sivaramakrishna participated. As a part of Teachers' Day celebration, student cultural team “Kalakrithi” performed various events at Balayogi Kalapranganam.

The day was celebrated in GIM, GU, by the students of International MBA, X Trimester. Students of BBM, IMBA & MBA expressed their views on the role of teachers in moulding students. Dean and Principal K. Sivaramakrishna spoke on the responsibility of teachers and students.

Vignan Vidyalayam High School at Timmapuram organised Gurupujostavam on Monday. Former Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University B. Satyanarayana was chief guest. Chairman of the Vignan group L. Rattayya and vice-chairman Srikrishnadevaraya announced one month's salary as a reward for teachers of the institutions. Principal C.L. Srinivas spoke.

Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan felicitated boxing coach I. Venkateswara Rao during the Teacher's Day celebrations on being conferred with the Dronacharya award. Director Ch. Vasu Prakash, Principal of Kakatiya University's College of Education G. Ramesh, former Principal of RIE, Mysore K. Dorasami and others attended.
