Ganta Srinivasa Rao appeals to people to make the meeting a grand success
The success of the Samaikyandhra Garjana to be held at the Gurajada Kalakshetram here on January 2 should echo at the Assembly meeting to be held on the next day. This was the opinion of the representatives of various Samaikyandhra JACs, who attended a meeting convened by the Non-Political JAC here on Monday.
Minister for Infrastructure and Investments Ganta Srinivasa Rao appealed to the public to make the meeting a grand success. A total of 69 different JACs were coordinating with the Non-Political JAC in this regard. He said that all political parties, which were working for the cause of keeping the State united, were invited to participate in the meeting.
Referring to the ‘unilateral decision’ of the UPA on Telangana, he said that the Bill was passed without a national policy, without a proper procedure and just to convince a single man. The concerns raised by one region were totally ignored and this was why it should be opposed tooth and nail. Describing the Samaikyandhra agitation as a ‘people’s movement’, he said that the meeting was intended to project the opposition of the common people to the division of the State. He called for team work and joint efforts to keep the State united. He expressed confidence that the Bill would be stalled in the Assembly.
MLA Panchakarla Ramesh Babu called for greater unity among the people’s representatives in Seemandhra for the success of the movement. MLA Malla Vijay Prasad was optimistic that the Bill would be stalled at any cost as all Seemandhra MLAs, irrespective of their party affiliations, were against division of the State.
Non-Political JAC general secretary P. Vishnu Kumar Raju presided.
