The Bhubaneswar – Krishnarajapuram Humsafar weekly express (22833) has been running with vacant berths from Bhubaneswar since its inauguration.

On July 31, there were 471 vacant berths from Bhubaneswar but from Visakhapatnam it was a waiting list (WL) 3 on this train. It’s a loss to Indian Railways, says RTI activist K. Eswar, who Tweeted the same to the Railway Minister.

“The quota of berths from Visakhapatnam is very less compared to the demand and the vice-versa at Bhubaneswar. I checked the IRTTC website at 6.30 p.m. again and it showed 458 berths available from Visakhapatnam on 22833,” he said.

“But, within three minutes it was changed to berths ‘not available’. I suspected foul play by the railway authorities concerned and Tweeted to the CRB and other officials to show the revenue from the sale of the 458 tickets in three minutes.”
