A torch rally was organised by RTC employees on the banner of National Mazdoor Union (NMU) on Monday to mark the 50 day of indefinite strike for Samaikyandhra launched by the RTC employees.
The employees, under the leadership of NMU general secretary Y. Srinivasa Rao, holding torches stood around the statue of ‘Telugu Talli’ and raised slogans in support of Samaikyandhra and against bifurcation of the State.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao took strong exception to the statements of KCR describing ‘all those born on Andhra soil as Telangana conspirators’ and said it was ‘unbecoming on the part of the MP to use such derogatory language against the people’.
He also found fault with KCR for ‘belittling the Seemandhra agitation’ which was being organised peacefully. He said that the agitation would be intensified from Tuesday.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that the people of Seemandhra were furious with the Union Ministers and MPs from the region for not resigning from their posts though the Chief Minister had clarified about the injustice being done to the people of Seemandhra region.
RTC JAC conveners M.V.R. Murthy, J.M. Naidu, State secretary K. Nandagopal, regional president V. Appa Rao and union leaders A.K. Shivaji, P.N. Rao, P.N. Murthy and R. Vasantha were among those who attended.
