RTC buses to ferry polling staff

APSRTC buses have been arranged from Visakhapatnam, Anakapalle, Narsipatnam, and Paderu bus stations for the polling staff to take them to the mandals where they have been allotted duty for the ZPTC and MPTC elections, CEO of Zilla Praja Parishad M. Maheswara Reddy has said.

The buses would transport the 4,500 polling staff to the headquarters of the mandals allotted to them. Polling would be held in 17 mandals during the second and final phase of polling.

Meanwhile, district Collector and District Election Authority declared Friday as local holiday.

Directive

MPDOs and other heads of departments were told to instruct the headmasters or principals of the schools and colleges where polling stations were located, to hand over the keys of the buildings along with the existing furniture.
