Chief of Naval Staff of Royal Malaysian Navy Admiral Tan Sri Ahmad Kamarulazaman Bin Haji Ahmad Badaruddin arrived in the city on Tuesday on a two-day visit of the Eastern Naval Command.

The Chief of Naval Staff of Royal Malaysian Navy, accompanied by a Malaysian delegation, arrived in the city after completing official engagements in New Delhi, where he interacted with the Chairman of Chief of Staffs Committee, Chief of Air Staff, and Vice-Chief of Army Staff. His visit is intended to consolidate the bilateral naval relations between the two countries and also to explore new avenues for naval cooperation. Major issues discussed during the visit included training exchanges, improving Maritime domain awareness by sharing white shipping information, and exploring opportunities for bilateral exercises.

After reaching the city, the Chief of Naval Staff of RMN interacted with Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, Vice Admiral HCS Bisht and held discussions on issues of mutual interest at the ENC headquarters on Wednesday.

During their visit here, the RMN Chief and the Malaysian delegation were briefed on the activities of the Command and later visited indigenously designed and built stealth frigate, INS Shivalik.

The ships of the Indian Navy Eastern Fleet recently visited Port Kelang as part of its Overseas Deployment to North West Pacific and held a first-ever ‘Table Top’ exercise on humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) with the RMN.
