A rowdy-sheeter Suvvada Mahesh, who was involved in many murder cases in the city, was allegedly murdered by some known persons suspected to be his rival gang members or friends near a meat shop at Pithapuram Colony under MVP Colony Police Station limits on Tuesday night.

The 32-year-old rowdy-sheeter was a native of HB Colony area. He was accused in the murder of other rowdy-sheeters Gedela Raju, Malla Ramana, Oil Ramu and others.

Sources said Mahesh was allegedly atacked following a dispute between him and his friends.

At the time of the incident, Mahesh was consuming liquor with his friends Narayana and Manikantha. However, the locals say different versions of the murder of the rowdy-sheeter.

One version was that while they were involved in a heated argument over some petty issue, a group of persons barged in and allegedly hit Mahesh's head with a big stone and fled. Some say Mahesh was murdered by his friends only over the dispute.

Though the injured Mahesh was shifted to King George Hospital immediately, he was declared brought dead by the doctors.

Inspector of MVP Colony Police Station Malla Maheswara Rao said they had registered a case and formed a special team to nab the accused.
