In view of complaints on misuse and inflating of amounts spent on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), experts have suggested involvement of stakeholders in finalising the activities.

At the inaugural of a two-day workshop conducted for public sector executives here at YMCA by Global Gandhian Trusteeship & Corporate Responsibility Foundation on Wednesday, managing trustee of the foundation Suresh Kumar Pramar said the activities undertaken by the corporates should be put in public domain for better transparency and accountability. He said there should be proper mechanism for implementation of 2 per cent of profits on the CSR activity as per the guidelines issued in 2010 by the Government of India. Instead of officials of Human Resources or Corporate Communications of a company, an exclusive department for CSR should be created. “During the deliberations, our thrust is to drive home the point on personal social responsibility. So, people with commitment and passion to take up CSR activity should be made in-charge of implementing it,” Mr. Pramar said.
