Both the central trade unions and the managements have failed to arrive at an understanding
Discussions by the National Joint Committee for Steel (NJCS) on revision of wages for employees of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) and Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) remained inconclusive on Monday. Both the central trade unions and the managements, who held the talks in New Delhi, failed to arrive at an understanding with the unions insisting on minimum guaranteed benefit (MGB) of 30 per cent and the management offering 14 per cent. The management also offered six per cent contribution for pension scheme.
Union leaders D. Adinarayana, N. Rama Rao and Mantri Rajasekhar attended the meeting. RINL Director (Personnel) Y.R. Reddy and General Manager (Personnel) R.V. Prasad represented the management. Mr. Rajasekhar said the new date for the next round of discussions would be notified later.
