Continuing its improvement on the production front, the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) has achieved a growth of 10 per cent in saleable steel output and over 12 per cent in finished steel and 5 per cent in power generation in May.
A release said that the company had once again surpassed its best May performance since inception in average oven pushing, gross coke production, blast furnace (BF) coke, and tar production.
On the sales front, RINL achieved a growth of 2 per cent despite sluggish market conditions in the country.
The sale of special steel was 85 per cent of total saleable steel, representing a growth of 12 per cent.
Branded products sales grew by 11 per cent and wire rod products registered an impressive growth of 13 per cent. New grades for transmission line towers (TLT) sector was developed during the month.
The works in expansion areas are in full swing for progressive commissioning of all balance units in this fiscal, the release stated.
