RINL Chairman-cum-Managing Director A.P. Choudhary on Friday appealed to one and all, particularly the unions, to put more efforts to strengthen RINL which had a very bright future in the coming years. He said that the revamping of Blast Furnace-1 Godavari was in full swing and production would start in March, 2014. He was speaking after inaugurating the newly built pump house 6A in the BF-1 premises.

He said this was a major milestone achieved in the modernisation and capital repairs of Godavari (BF-1) which was being upgraded to increase the production capacity from the present two to 2.5 million ton hot metal. He said the water system was a key element in the modernisation of Godavari and congratulated the projects collective on successful completion of the facility.

The technologically upgraded Godavari uses copper staves and requires soft water for better cooling efficiency and the newly constructed pump house supplies pressurised soft water to the copper cooling plates. RINL Directors Y.R. Reddy (personnel), P.C. Mohapatra (projects), Chief Vigilance Officer B. Siddhartha Kumar, Executive Director (works) R. Ranjan, Micco President & CEO Aloke Basu, KPC Director Vasudeva Rao, and others were present.
