Revised DPR for BRTS approved

Vision document to be prepared

At a meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday, the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee of JNNURM approved the revised detailed project report (DPR) for Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS).

The meeting presided over by Union Urban Development Secretary Sudhir Krishna accepted the change in the BRTS corridor plan. Instead of a tunnel at Narasimhanagar, the Asilmetta flyover was constructed and a DPR for it was approved at the meeting.

Principal Secretary (MA&UD) Sameer Sarma and Municipal Commissioner M. V. Satyanarayana participated. Complimenting the GVMC, for supplying a report on treated sewage water at Rs.2 a KL to industry, the Union Secretary wanted a report on it to be sent. Solid waste management in Zone IV also came in for praise. It should be implemented in all the wards and a project report should be sent to the government.

The Commissioner said following a direction by the Union Secretary a vision document on the comprehensive development of the city would be prepared.
