‘Rescue forces in all districts’

The Fire and Disaster Management Department is being strengthened in view of increasing accidents and in every district headquarters rescue forces are being set up, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister N. China Rajappa has said.

Inaugurating a new Fire Station at Autonagar in Gajuwaka on Friday, he said new buildings were being constructed and existing ones being modernised. He also laid foundation for fire station at Surya Baugh.

Director General of Disaster Response and Fire Services K. Satyanarayana said in every district fire rescue force and fire task force were being formed. Eighteen water tankers would be acquired in the next two months. VUDA Vice-Chairman P. Basanth Kumar complimented the quick response when a floor in the VUDA building caught fire.
