Reorganisation Act should be implemented in toto: PCC

July 04, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:58 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Not just Section 8 but all the 138 Sections of the AP State Reorganisation Act must be implemented, president of AP Congress Committee N. Raghuveera Reddy demanded here on Friday.

The Telugu Desam and BJP are ruling at the State and Centre and the two parties should show sincerity during the ensuing Parliament session at least to ensure AP received all the benefits under the Act, Mr. Raghuveera Reddy said at a press conference. “The Congress has provided all the benefits in the Act (for AP) and it is now the responsibility of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and BJP to realise the benefits. He is always saying the Congress has done injustice to AP by dividing the State. Now he must get all the benefits for the AP,” Mr. Raghuveera Reddy said. In the recent past Mr. Naidu was raising Sec. 8 only forgetting other benefits the State should get under the section only to escape from the note-for-vote case.

He alsocriticised the TDP chief for not even condemning his party’s Telangana MLA Revanth Reddy who was caught bribing an MLA.

The APCC chief said Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao was also on the wrong side of the law for tapping telephones of TDP MLAs and leaders and “purchasing MLAs”.
