Jana Garjana
In Narsipatnam, thousands of people, many of them students of colleges and schools, participated in the Jana Garjana programme organised by the teachers’ joint action committee in support of Samaikyandhra on Monday.
The road from Abid centre to Palghat centre was packed with the participants and police diverted traffic. Songs by balladeer Vangapandu Prasada Rao and his troupe highlighting the need to keep the State unified captivated the people.
The programme was supported by the RTC JAC and the government employees’ JAC. Convenor of teachers’ JAC and general secretary of PRTU district unit D. Gopinath presided. Local Tehsildar and convener of employees’ JAC B.V. Ramana, student leaders and others participated.
A professor of Sri Krishnadevaraya University M. Mutyalanaidu urged the people not to give up the agitation .
Telugu Desam Polit Bureau member and former Minister Ch. Ayyannapatrudu organised a rally of kalasams in which 300 women participated. The women carrying the kalasams on their heads from Mr. Patrudu’s residence to Sri Kanakadurga temple near Srikanya junction where the women performed Jalabhishekam to the goddess seeking her blessing to keep the State unified.
On way to the temple, Mr. Patrudu spent a few minutes at the Jana Garjana programme.
