Red sanders worth Rs. 20 lakh seized

Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel seized huge quantity of red sanders outside the parcel office of Rayagada railway station in Odisha on Tuesday.

Based on information that huge quantity of red sanders was being transported to an unknown destination as parcel luggage, the RPF officials intensified their search operations.

The seized red sanders packed in 19 bags, weighing around two tonnes.

The market value of the logs was estimated to be around Rs. 20 lakh.

According Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, East Coast Railway, M. Yelvender Yadav, the seized logs would be handed over to the Forest Department for further action.
