The CRPF is making all out efforts to ensure that the persons from different tribes in the district qualify for the special recruitment drive by the Staff Selection Commission for vacancies in Central Armed Police Forces.
The recent recruitment drive for 22,000 CAPF constables by the SSC on final count had around 3,000 vacancies, which have been distributed to 26 districts in the country which are under Maoist influence. Khammam and Visakhapatnam districts have been allocated 284 vacancies each, Commandant CRPF 198 Battalion Nisheet Kumar said.
The vacancies are open only to the persons domiciled in Visakhapatnam district. There are two recruitment boards being organised for the purpose one at Paderu and another at Elamanchili.
The SSC has planned an open recruitment rally between May 27 and June 8. The candidates have to undergo basic physical qualification test after which they would be allowed to appear for a written test. Those who qualify would have to go through a thorough medical examination before being recruited.
The candidates who qualify for the post of constable in CAPF would draw a starting salary of around Rs 20,000, the CRPF Commandant explained.
With a view to encourage and enable the tribals from the district to join the Central police forces, the CRPF has started pre-recruitment training camps at Munchingput, G Madugula, Paderu, Sileru, G K Veedhi, Chintapalli and Visakhapatnam, he added.
