The mass recital of the national anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’ for 1,04,128 times by students of 23 educational institutions in the city during 2011 entered into Limca Book of Records 2013. A total of 6,508 students sang the national anthem for 16 times.

The main objective of the programme organised by A Creative Makers in Events (ACME), was to celebrate 100 years of completion of the national anthem composed by Rabindranath Tagore, which was sung on December 27, 1911 during the Indian National Congress convention, said founder and president of ACME Vincent Pratap Kumar. “The event also focused on promoting national integration by involving thousands of students. We are more than happy to see our efforts being recognised. With official permission from the authorities, we are unveiling Limca Book of Records 2013 here in the city,” he explained.

Director of Wellfare Group of Companies V. Sandhyavalli, B. Jagath Rao of Vijay Nirman Company Private, director of Academy of Robotics M. Srikanth and president of KIND Adari Kishore were some of the invitees participated and appreciated the efforts taken to promote the national anthem and bringing glory to the City of Destiny.
