Record generation at NTPC Simhadri

NTPC Simhadri Super Thermal Power Plant achieved a record generation of 8520.69 million units operating at a plant load factor (PLF) of 97.27 per cent during 2009-10.

This was the second consecutive financial year that the Simhadri plant has achieved above 97 per cent PLF in power generation. The station has operated consistently at above 104 PLF during February and March.

On Stage-II expansion front, the project achieved one more milestone as the boiler hydro test for unit four was done successfully on Wednesday, thereby achieving MoU targets set by the Centre.
