Ensure safety

Krishna Pushkarams are just days away and the government should take all steps to ensure that ordinary devotees have a safe and comfortable experience. The administration should take a lesson from the stampede at Rajamahendravaram during Godavari Pushkarams and make elaborate arrangements to prevent recurrence of any such mishap. Devotees take a dip in the river with all faith, belief and reverence and everything should be done to help them.

It’s agony for

camels on beach

Camel is physiologically and anatomically well adapted only to extreme dry conditions with hot winds and sand storms. Actually it is cruel to expose camels for long time to humid climate with salty tinge.

Camels are best left in desert areas and their owners shown alternative occupation.N.S.R. Sastry

Special category status

It unfortunate that the Centre is determined not to confer Special Category Status on the State despite it being legitimately due as promised by the former prime minister on the floor of the Rajya Sabha. He reiterated it during the recent discussion on the subject in the Rajya Sabha.

Refund delayed

Even after 10 months of surrendering my BSNL landline telephone connection at the Telecom Office in Daba Gardens in Visakhapatnam, I have not got the refund of deposit money.

I was assured that the refund would be sent in two months to my new address in Hyderabad where I had shifted.

The BSNL should wake up to the competition and be sharper in its response.
