A pilot project to control malaria will be launched on the lines of a successful model in Rayagada district in Odisha, Paderu ITDA Chairman and District Collector N. Yuvaraj has said.
“In 20 selected villages smear test will be conducted for all the people and ACT tablets administered to prevent malaria attacks thereby totally controlling it in the villages,” Mr. Yuvaraj told the ITDA governing body meeting on Sunday.
There was a dearth of doctors with 36 vacancies as some got seats in post-graduation and those appointed on contract not joining, the Collector said.
He said a vision document identifying chronic problems in the Girijan areas and a solution to them would be worked out. Responding to a complaint by MLA Giddi Eswari, he instructed officials to end irregular deputations in Kasturba Girls Schools ashram schools to be terminated. Work related to distribution of the third phase of pattas (title deeds) under the Forest Rights Act was going on, he said. MLC G. Sandhya Rani, MLA K. Sarveswara Rao, ITDA Project Officer K.
