Devoting more time to studies is usually considered an effective strategy to achieve academic excellence. But, Pattisapu Srividya thinks otherwise.
After securing all-India 9th rank in Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) entrance test, 7th rank in EAMCET, all-India 8th rank in Manipal Medical Entrance Exam, and 59 rank in All-India Pre Medical Test, Ms. Srividya is now waiting with bated breath for the results of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, entrance test.
“Over 50,000 candidates competed for 150 seats in JIPMER this year. Out of these seats, only 50 are for open merit category. Securing all-India 9th rank in the examination is something which I never dreamt of,” she exclaims.
Depending on the results of AIIMS entrance test, she says her future will be defined.
Daughter of J. Rajyalakshmi and P.V.S. Prasad, who are employees of Canara Bank and SBI respectively, Ms. Srividya says that falling in love with the subjects helps her stand apart.
She says: “My priority is not to aim for ranks as I don’t believe in studying for hours on end. I enjoy my study hours and never compromise on my eight hours of sleep in a day. When you do not think about the competition and give it your best shot, the results turn out to be amazing.”
Being attentive in the class, utilising study hours meticulously, keeping a tab on the core subjects by continuously updating, besides pursuing a hobby appear to be the success mantra for the student.
Thanks parents“I love painting. It allows me to channel my creative thought process. Reading also relaxes me, and I love flipping through J.K. Rowling’s novels,” she says.
With Ms. Srividya’s parents supporting her every move, the Intermediate student of Sri Chaitanya Narayana Medical Academy considers herself fortunate.
“I thank my parents for giving me enough freedom and space. My ambition is to make a mark in molecular biology, as I am extremely fond of the domain,” she says.
