An exhibition was organised by the Waltair Division of East Coast Railway in connection with the 59th Railway Week celebrations.

Railway Week is celebrated every year in April to commemorate the chugging off of the 1st train between Bori Bunder (Mumbai) and Thane with 16 coaches on April 16.

During the celebrations the division organised an exhibition at Visakhapatnam Railway station on Tuesday with display of heritage photographs comprising various models of steam locos, working of railways in the good old days, and the display of ‘green toilets’ model to educate the travelling public about their functioning, usage and their benefits.

The exhibition will be open to the public on Wednesday also. A function will be held at the Divisional Railway Manager’s office complex at 5.30 p.m. on April 16.

Awards will be presented to railway employees who have done commendable work to achieve exceptional results during the financial year, according to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager M. Yelvender Yadav.
