The Institute of Fundamental Research, Hyderabad, is releasing some balloons, containing scientific equipment, into the atmosphere from October 15 this year to May 31, 2010.

The balloons, after travelling for some distance, could release parachutes with scientific equipment. The parachutes can fall anywhere on the earth. Public who came across such parachutes shouldn’t touch them as the equipment could pose a threat to their security.

There is also a danger of the equipment getting damaged. Those who come across such parachutes should inform the nearest police station without touching them. Such informants would be suitably rewarded by the institute, according to Three Town CI K. Ranga Raju.

Informants can call on phone no.’s (040) 27123978, (040) 27122505, (040) 27122894 or on mobile no.’s 94407 96011 or 94407 96030 or on phone no. (0891) 2755517.
