Prosecution launched against educational society

The Sub Regional Office of Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has filed prosecution against M/s Suresh Educational Society of Vizianagaram district and its representatives for failure to comply with the PF rules.

The Sub Regional Office of Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has filed prosecution against M/s Suresh Educational Society of Vizianagaram district and its representatives for failure to comply with the PF rules.

The prosecution of the establishment and its chairman G. Suresh and correspondent G. Prasad Rao was filed before the Judicial I Class Magistrate Court in Vizianagaram district for failure to remit within the stipulated time the PF and Pension Fund contributions, administrative/EDLI charges for the period August 2005 to October 2005 and failure to submit within the stipulated time the monthly returns in Form-12 A and Form-5/10 for the above period, according to Regional PF Commissioner Ajeet Kumar. The delay committed by the establishment is punishable under Section 14(1A), 14 (A) of the EPF and MP Act. The Magistrate imposed a fine of Rs.2,000 in each case, in respect of 20 cases, and the remaining cases were posted for trial on April 4.
