After a whirlwind visit on Wednesday night, Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana ordered that wages for night sanitation staff be stopped until an inquiry into their working was completed.

He asked Chief Medical Officer (Health) M. Satyanarayana Raju to inquire and submit a report to him. There is no supervisory position and all must work.

He ordered the suspension of health assistants in packages 5 and 12 and removal of a supervisor employed by a contractor.

Cheating case

Cheating cases should be filed against contractors not paying full wages due to workers. Quantum of work should be calculated to allot workers in proportion.

He visited Satyam computers, Diamond Park, Jagadamba Junction, KGH, Kancharapalem, Marripalem and Akkayyapalem areas.

Notices issued

Shops littering in Jagadamba area should be issued notices and later fined, he told officials.
