Andhra Pradesh High Court Judge Justice P. Chanda Kumar on Sunday said poverty cannot prevent any poor student from reaching top position in their life saying that lives of former Prime Minister Lalbahadur Shastri, former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, and founder of Ford Motor Company Henry Ford, who had rewritten the history with their will power and innovative thinking, proved this.
Justice Kumar said religion, caste, creed, and family background would play little role in the growth of individuals.
The High Court Judge asked the students to study the life stories of successful people which would inspire them and make them to think high.
He interacted with the students of hostels, most of them girls, and clarified their doubts on several issues such as inequality, gender discrimination, and dowry.
He also explained how caste system was evolved in the country. “Rulers cleverly developed caste system to make majority people as their slaves.
They needed more servants in all fields and forced the people to confine to the respective professions.
However, it should not be a hindrance for poor students in achieving their goals,” he said.
Srikakulam District Judge B.S. Bhanumati, Srikakulam Additional Judge K.V. Ramanaji, Mobile Court Magistrate S. Chinababu, Judicial First Class Magistrate A. Padma, and Srikakulam Bar Association president Pydi Venugopalam were among those who participated in the programme.
