Posting photos, abusive messages lands girl student in jail

A 20-year-old girl student was arrested by the Cyber Crime Police on Thursday on the charge of creating a fake Facebook id. on the name of another girl and posting her photographs, phone numbers and some abusive messages and causing mental agony to her.

On a complaint filed by K. Veerabhadra Reddy that someone had created a fake Facebook id. in the name of his granddaughter and caused mental agony to her, the Fourth Town (Dwaraka Zone) Police registered a complaint under Sections 66-A and 66-C of the IT Act 2000-2008 and the file was transferred to the Cyber Crime Investigation. Cyber Crimes Inspector K. Satyanarayana Rao and his team analysed the case and based on Facebook profile log details and user details, the accused was arrested and a tab, and her mobile seized. Based on her confession, she was sent to judicial remand.
