Pomp, gaiety mark I-Day at industries

Pomp and gaiety marked the celebration of 70{+t}{+h}Independence Day by the industries here by holding colourful parades, administration of pledge to improve productivity and honouring senior and meritorious employees.

NTPC Simhadri organised the celebrations on a grand scale at Deepanjalinagar. Group General Manager P.K. Bondriya unfurled the tricolour and described how they were serving the nation by providing quality power.

Later the GGM along with senior colleagues R.P.J. Stephen, H.S. Sahoo, A.C. Sahoo, V. Prabhakar Rao, V. Shiva Prasad and TVVS Prakash presented ‘power excel’ awards to six executives and eight non-executives.

HPCL expansion

Speaking at celebrations held at Visakh Refinery, HPCL-VR Executive Director G.S.V.S.S.S. Prasad Sarma stressed on the world energy demand and the role of alternate fuels in meeting it and requested the employees to work together for the upcoming mega project Visakh Refinery Modernisation Project.

Later, he presented service awards to 65 employees who have completed 35/30/25/20 and 15 years of service.

Amenities at HSL

Rear Admiral L.V. Sarat Babu (retd.), Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Shipyard Limited emphasised the need of each and every employee to contribute to the HSL for its growth and try and narrated how steps were being taken to improve the amenities for employees and their families.

He said as part of welfare initiatives, 15 activities were completed during a short span of seven months.

Nalco port facilities

Nalco celebrated I-Day on its premises near Convent Junction. General Manager (Port Facilities) S.P. Nanda in his address said they had performed well at their Visakhapatnam establishment. He said Nalco was in the forefront of implementing various activities under Swachh Bharat Mission. AGM (Marketing) V.P. Avanidhar read out message of CMD T.K. Chand.

Gangavaram Port

Gangavaram Port celebrated the momentous occasion by spreading the message of peace and prosperity. Senior Vice President (R&R & Security) K. Raja Ratnam Naidu hoisted the tricolour. The staff participated with great zeal and patriotic fervour.

VCTPL

VCTPL paid rich tributes to freedom fighters at I-day celebrations. COO Sushil Mulchandani asked the employees to work with dedication.
