Police to enforce lane discipline

An awareness campaign on lane discipline by the city traffic police was launched in the city on Tuesday.

Senior police officers and MLAs took part in the initiative and asked the public to keep to the left of the road for free flow of traffic.

Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao started the campaign at Old Gajuwaka area, along with ACP (Traffic) K. Prabhakar and a few others.

The awareness campaign was conducted inviting auto-rickshaw drivers, who were told to keep to the left and maintain discipline while driving. Meanwhile MLA (East) V. Ramakrishna Babu initiated the campaign at Hanumanthuwaka junction along with ADCP (Traffic) K. Mahendra Patrudu.

According to Mr. Patrudu, after the initial phase of campaign, the police would start imposing fines on the violators.
