PMI State meet gets under way

The 7th State conference of Prison Ministry of India (PMI) began at Visakhapuri Mary Matha Shrine Dhyanashram at Ross Hill here on Wednesday.

Bishop M D Prakasam, chairman of AP Prison Ministry India, who inaugurated the two-day conference, said that every volunteer of PMI must show love for Christ. They could change the souls with prayerful and selfless service, he said.

Deputy Superintendent of Central Prison, Visakhapatnam, Sanyasi Rao spoke on 'Human treatment in prisons'. Vice Principal of AU Law College Y. Satyanarayana spoke on the 'Role of volunteers in prisons'. Joseph Kondala, Coordinator of Visakhapatnam PMI unit, is moderating the two-day programme, according to Visakhapatnam PMI unit secretary B.V. Ravindra Seshu Babu.
