Plumbing meet to focus on water conservation

To drive home the importance of water conservation and health and hygiene, the Visakhapatnam Chapter of Indian Plumbing Association is organising a seminar and two-day exhibition at AMCOSA Auditorium on Saturday and Sunday.

"Keeping in view the call of the Prime Minister for Swachh Bharat and the Andhra Pradesh government’s ongoing thrust on water conservation, the chapter formed in 2015 is organising its first major event with focus on the two issues," Visakhapatnam chapter chairman K. Leela Prasad said.

The seminar on Saturday would comprise three presentations by eminent persons in the field of plumbing on water conservation, reuse and recycling, he told reporters here on Friday. Plumbing standards, using the right pipe for right application etc. will also be covered.

The seminar and exhibition will be inaugurated by HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Municipal Commissioner Pravin Kumar will deliver the keynote address.

The exhibition, showcasing plumbing and sanitary material, bathroom fittings, pipes and piping material of all major companies, will be open to public from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Chapter executive committee members K. Kumar Raja, P.N.V. Vidyasagar, Nirmal Dugar and Atul Rathi were present.
