Plea to set up Haj House in city

Former MLA S.A. Rehaman has appealed to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to set up a Haj House in Visakhapatnam for the benefit of large number of Muslims in the north coastal Andhra districts.

The third Haj House, along with facilities announced for Kadapa and Vijayawada, must be provided here, he said while felicitating Abdul China Rehaman of the city on being appointed member of the AP Haj House Committee, at a function organised by the North Andhra United Muslim Welfare Association.

Dr. Rehaman also requested the Chief Minister to recover Rs.10 crore given for construction of Haj House in Hyderabad from the sale proceeds of Wakf land sold to NTPC and Hinduja power plants near the city and construct a Haj House, commercial complex, Shadi Khana, Madrasa, and other facilities.

Mr. China Rehaman assured Muslims of all facilities for making Haj pilgrimage.

General secretary of the organisation Rahmatullah Baig, president of mosques committee Ahmadullah Khan, former member of Haj Committee Zafrullah also felicitated Mr. China Rehaman.
