Pink ribbon programme

Underlining the need to detect early signs of breast cancer, Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital and Research Institute flagged off a pink ribbon programme to mark ‘Breast Cancer Awareness Month’ here on Saturday.

As part of the initiative, chief medical superintendent of the hospital B.C. Sahoo and doctors from East Coast Railway Hospital, station manager Dibankar Panda, and Superintendent of Waltair Division D. Govinda Rao released posters. Managing director of the hospital and surgical oncologist V. Murali Krishna said that the initiative was meant to educate people on periodic screening and early detection.
