‘Goal is to provide services to the people without hassles’

The primary objective of the Revenue Sadassulu, the brain-child of Revenue Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy, was creating public demand for good governance, said Chief Commissioner for Land Administration (CCLA) P.K. Mohanty.

The CCLA, who came to the district to participate in a revenue sadassulu talking to The Hindu said that the goal of the exercise launched by the State government was to provide services to the people without hassles.

During the revenue sadassulu conducted last year only 38 services were provided to the people. The Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy wanted to increase the number of services being provided to around 100 by March-April. Around 88 services were being extended to the public through Mee Seva and the Revenue Sadassulu.

Since the launching of Mee Seva Services 1.45 crore people had benefited. The number of services provided would be increased to two crore per annum (April to April), he said.

The provision of services and purifying the revenue records that were being computerised would be done as per a calendar. Different events and drives (would be planned for six months in the year) and the remaining six months the department would do the regular work.

The different events along with the revenue sadassulu would be kharif azmayish and rabi azmayish (crop and revenue assessment) and jamabandi (annual revenue audit), he said. He said the parallel computerisation of the land Registrations along with the land revenue would go a long way in improving the system, Mr. Mohanty said. The CCLA said that there was a proposals for the updating the land records in a manner similar to the updating of electoral rolls. The updated records would be put up at various places fro public scrutiny, he said.

Mr. Mohanty said that he was very satisfied with the impact of the Revenue Sadassulu that were being conducted in the state. He attended sadassulu in Guntur, Krishna, Karimnagar, Warangal, Mahaboobnagar, Nellore and Nalgonda until now.
