Political leaders, both the elected representatives as well as the others who lost elections and are in the service of the people have lost their credibility and cannot claim to represent the interests of the common man, president of the Visalandhra Mahasabha Parakala Prabhakar said.
Addressing the media here on Wednesday, he urged the common man from Seemandhra region, agitating for keeping AP united, not to be fooled by their lip service and not to allow them to join them unless they get their party leaders to withdraw their support to the bifurcation process.
The single point agenda of the Samaikyandhra protestors is keeping the State united, he explained.
He demanded that the ministers, both at the Centre and in the State, resign their posts and their stand that they are continuing in power to obstruct the passage of the Bill on separation was untenable.
People could not be fooled by the lame excuses being dished out by these leaders.
He took objection to the reported move of some of the ministers in the State Cabinet from both Telangana and Seemandhra region planning to sit down and thrash out the differences. “These people cannot claim to represent us and they can neither negotiate on our behalf nor take a stand on behalf of the people of the region,” he asserted. There is no room for negotiation, the people only want a united Andhra Pradesh, he said.
He called upon the people not to get carried away by statements that there is still time for the process of bifurcation.
The political leaders have been lying through their teeth all along they knew that the process of bifurcation had already begun but have been trying to lull the people into believing that bifurcation would never happen, Parakala Prabhakar said.
He wanted the agitation to continue till the decision was rolled back.
