Seven firms from all over the country have responded to the notification issued by the Visakhapatnam- Kakinada Petroleum, Chemical and Petrochemical Investment Region (VK-PCPIR) for taking up the Marine Environmental Impact Assessment study in the region.
Vice-Chairman of the VUDA as well as the PCPIR N. Yuvaraj held a pre-bid meeting with representatives of the firms. While focusing on the significance of the study, he said the PCPIR strategies of conserving the environment and ecology both on land and sea would get top priority.
The Environmental Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI) has already been conducting the Environmental Impact Assessment study and the National Institute of Oceanography has been assigned the study of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ).
Projects and Development India of Dhanbad, Indomer Coastal Hydraulics and BMT Consultant India, Lotus Granges of Chennai, SENES Consultants India and L & T Ramboll Consulting India of Hyderabad and TerrCon Ecotech of Mumbai were the firms that responded.
The Request for Proposal will be issued to these agencies after referring their queries to an expert committee. The firms in turn have to submit their proposals for bids by August 12.
