Patrudu-Ganta differences to the fore again

February 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Differences between Panchayati Raj Minister Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu and HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao came to the surface again on Friday when Mr. Patrudu went round the Madugula Assembly constituency, launching works under the Neeru-Chettu and inaugurating other programmes, all worth more than Rs. 8 crore.

Mr. Patrudu went ahead with the programme in spite of Anakapalle MP M. Srinivasa Rao, a supporter of HRD Minister, raising an objection to it being held even as he was attending Parliament. He said he would take up the issue with the Speaker.

The Madugula programmes were arranged at the behest of former MLA and TDP rural president Gavireddy Ramanaidu, who was angry that the MP had conducted a programme in the constituency in the past without informing him.

During the meetings, Mr. Patrudu indirectly commented on Mr. Ganta Srinivasa Rao. “Some joined politics for the sake of business but I am in politics for the sake of politics only…. I don’t change parties and I am from the “NTR university” and a disciplined party worker and will remain loyal to the party forever…. I am not scared of anyone,” he commented at different places. Mr. Patrudu inaugurated the Rs. 3.57-crore Isukagedda reservoir in Butchiapalem; launched Rs. 3 crore worth work on Nagaraju tank in Mushidipalli, and inaugurated a Mahila Smruti building at Deverapalli.
