Online booking for slots on March 5

A passport seva camp is being organised by the Regional Passport Office, Visakhapatnam, at the Alumni auditorium at JNTU in Kakinada from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 8 and 9. The camp is meant to cater to the needs of applicants living in East Godavari district. The objective of the camp is to take IT-driven public services closer home.

A total of 600 online appointments (for both days) i.e., 300 on each day would be released from 5:30 p.m. on March 5. The applicants are required to visit the camp in person for processing of application, biometric capture and photographs.

The applicants should carry at least two colour photographs with a light background in case of any exigency, according to Passport Officer A.T. Murthy.

Applicants have to log on to on the portal fill and submit their application form online, make payment of passport fees (as given on the website) through online debit/credit card or Internet banking of State Bank of India. The SBI challan payment option, provided on the website, can also be used.

Mr. Murthy said that the appointments will be allotted by the system as per availability from 5:30 p.m. on March 5. The applicants have to visit the camp for submission of application along with a printout of the appointment slip, original documents and photo copies and SBI payment receipt, where applicable, on the appointed day and time.

Applications for Tatkal/lost/damaged passport cases or PCC will not be accepted. More details relating to passport services, the above mentioned passport website or the National Call Centre (toll free number) 1800-258-1800 may be accessed.
