Paper leak: AU exam cancelled

Andhra University cancelled the final year B.Sc. examination in web technology, scheduled to be held on Wednesday afternoon after it was found that the question paper of this examination was leaked.

Registrar V. Umamaheswara Rao said preliminary inquiry by the university revealed that the paper was leaked from the Buddha Ramesh Babu Memorial Degree College at Kancharapalem in the city.

Principal of the college was removed from the duty of Chief Superintendent of the centre and the college administration was told to suspend the Principal. Prof. Rao said two sitting observers would be appointed at this centre for the remaining examinations and a committee consisting of senior professors P. Hrushikesava Rao and Y. Satyanarayana was constituted to conduct a thorough inquiry. Revised schedule of the examination would be announced later.

The university administration reviewed the conduct of examinations with heads of all departments and told them to conduct the examinations without any mistakes in future.
