Palakole boy tops AUCET rankers

Vizag and Vizianagaram boys are second and third rankers

Peetani Sai Kumar of Palakole in West Godavari district, with a score of 87 marks in physical sciences test, topped the list of rankers of the Andhra University Common Entrance Test (AUCET) 2014.

Damaraju Uma Sankar of Visakhapatnam with 87 marks in English test and Devulapalli Lalith Raaj of Vizianagaram with 86 marks in the test for five-year integrated dual degree and twinning programmes, which come under AU Engineering Common Entrance Test (AUEET) 2014 were overall second and third respectively.

Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of AUCET and AUEET 2014 G.S.N. Raju released the AUCET and AUEET ranks here on Thursday.

Admission into PG programmes of Dr. Ambedkar University at Srikakulam is also based on the AUCET 2014 ranks.

The ranks and marks scored by candidates in AUCET 2014 were placed on the website www.audoa.in and for the first time admission counselling would be through web, except in the case of sets to be filled up under physically handicapped, NCC, sports, NSS and children of Armed Forces personnel categories.

Rank cards can be downloaded from Thursday and the manual admission for candidates under NCC and CAP categories would be held on June 7 and for PH, sports and NSS categories on June 8, both at the AU Directorate of Admissions here.

For the rest of the candidates, who have to go through web counselling procedure, certificate verification will be held at four helpline centres to function from June 9 to12 at Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Kakinada and Vijayawada. Web options will be open from June 9 to 14 and the first phase of allotment of seats will be done on June 15. Candidates have to pay the fee for the seats allotted to them between June 15 and 18.

The second phase of admission will begin on June 20 with certificate verification. This process will end on June 28 and seats if still available will be on display on June 29 and spot admission will be done at the Directorate of Admissions here on June 20 and July 1 for campus vacancies and at the affiliated colleges on July 2 and 3.
