Over 8,000 B.Ed. seats left unfilled

A total of 8,689 seats were left unfilled in the B.Ed. colleges after the final phase of allotment of seats under the EdCET 2013 Convenor quota was completed.

A total of 41,361 out of 50,050 seats available in the 618 B.Ed. Colleges were filled up with 15,783 of them during the final phase, Convenor of EdCET 2013 Nimma Venkata Rao informed on Friday.

A total of 1,05,707 rank holders of EdCET 2013 have given their choice of colleges through web and 34,426 were allotted seats during the first phase of admissions.

After 15,099 seats were left unfilled during the first phase, 8,896 candidates did not report to the allotted colleges or cancelled their admissions. A total of 24,472 seats were left for the final phase of admissions, he said.

Class work has commenced at the colleges and the last date for reporting to the allotted college is November 8, Prof. Venkata Rao informed. The allotment letter can be downloaded from the website www.edcet.apsche.ac.in, he added.
