This village along with 16 others in Parawada mandal are enjoying broadband connectivity with 100 GPS bandwidth at the panchayat level, thanks to the National Optical Fibre Network being implemented here by the Government of India.
The mandal is one of the three sub-district blocks selected for the pilot project of the Government of India’s ambitious project to provide fibre-optic broadband connectivity to all villages.
The users would be able to utilise the bandwidth for video conferencing for e-learning and or tele-medicine, among others, according to BBNL Director (Operations) A.K. Bhargava. Reliance Communications set up a stall here to explain how the users would be able to take advantage of the connectivity and showcased their ongoing project at Bonangi in the mandal.
Minister of State for Information Technology and Communication Killi Kruparani on Thursday inspected the facility at the panchayat office and school here and interacted with some of the end users. Senior IAS officer Praveen Prakash, BSNL District Telecom Manager P Nagaraju, BSNL Senior General Manager (Consumer Mobility) R.M.M. Krishna and others were present.
