Online sex racket busted in Vizag

An online prostitution racket was busted by the City Police and nine persons were arrested. The nine accused include two couples, who organised the business, their relatives and others besides a customer and three victims who were taken into custody by the police. A laptop, seven mobile phones and two motorcycles were seized by the police.

The accused created a website “Call girls in Vizag” to entice customers online. On entering the portal, the prospective customer (web browser) would be directed to a mobile phone number and asked to call the same. On calling that number, one M. Siva Reddy alias Sudhakar would answer the phone and take details of the prospective customer and give another mobile phone no. to enable the caller to contact the girl.

On calling the second mobile number one Dhanalakshmi would come in contact and direct the caller to the designated place from where he would be led to the brothel.

Sudhakar’s brother, Venkat Reddy, and his wife Pavani and Dhanalakhsmi and her husband Srinu live in Sivajipalem, their relatives Gouri Prasad, Raj Kiran and Ramu are also involved in the online business, Assistant Commissioner of Police (East) D.N. Mahesh told a media conference on Wednesday.
