One more swine flu case

A 40-year-old woman from Vepagunta in Pendurthi area, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital, tested positive for swine flu, while a 20-year-old girl undergoing treatment at the Government Hospital for Chest and Communicable Diseases tested negative, District Medical and Health Officer J. Sarojini said on Friday.

The woman from Vepagunta was admitted to the hospital three days ago.

With this, the number of swine flu cases reported in the city this year has gone up to 12.

Results of swab test done on two more women — one from Vepada of Vizianagaram district and the other from Pendurthi — both undergoing treatment at private hospitals, were awaited, Dr. Sarojini said.

A 60-year-old man from Abid Nagar and an old woman from NAD Kotha Road area, who tested positive for swine flu some days ago, were still on ventilators at different hospitals.

Forty persons had reported swine flu symptoms during the last 10 days and 12 of them tested positive.

Test result was negative in the case of 26.
