A pleasure trip to the Rushikonda beach ended in a tragedy for a group of final year LLB students of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.

Two of the nine-member group drowned in the sea and a girl student was rescued by fishermen.

Nine students of the university came to Vizag on Friday and put up at a private club in the Siripuram area.

They went to the beach at around 5.30 p.m. Three of them, including a girl, started swimming in the water, reportedly ignoring the warning of fishermen.

They were pulled into the deep by the strong current.

The girl and one of the boys Anil Kumar were rescued by swimmers and they were shifted to a corporate hospital in the city. However, Anil Kumar (22) was declared ‘brought dead’ and the condition of the girl was said to be stable.

Another youth Tej Kumar (22) went missing and his body couldn’t be traced till late in the evening.

Anil Kumar and Tej Kumar were natives of Kalyandurg and Rayadurg of Anantapur district, according to PM Palem Inspector K. Venkata Rao.
